The Articles "a" and "an"

Description: Learn how to use the articles "a" and "an" in English.

 

Video Transcript: The words a and an are articles to indicate one thing. We use a when the word starts with a consonant sound. The word books starts with a consonant, therefore we use a to indicate one - a book. When we speak quickly, we usually pronounce the article a like eh - a book, a book. Both pronunciations are correct. If a word starts with a vowel sound, like apple, we use an - an apple.
